Actress Minka Kelly recently promoted her upcoming holiday film, Champagne Problems, during an appearance on the Today show with Jenna Bush Hager on November 18, 2023. While discussing the film’s themes of love and the holiday season, Hager attempted to steer the conversation toward Kelly’s relationship with musician Dan Reynolds.
The actress, who has been in a relationship with Reynolds for three years, appeared caught off guard when Hager inquired about her personal life. “Speaking about the holidays and love in this rom-com, you have a very big love in your life right?” Hager asked, before adding, “Talk about your relationship, if you feel comfortable.”
Kelly, visibly hesitant, responded with appreciation for Reynolds, saying, “Yeah, it is beautiful. I feel really lucky, he’s a really good guy.” Hager lightened the mood with laughter, acknowledging the awkwardness of the moment, and remarked, “Sounds like you don’t want to talk about it. That’s fine.”
Co-host Olivia Munn quickly shifted the focus back to Reynolds, praising him and his band, Imagine Dragons. Munn, who previously appeared in one of the band’s music videos, described Reynolds as “so kind.”
As the conversation transitioned back to her movie, Kelly emphasized the film’s message about love unexpectedly impacting one’s life. She stated, “I think there’s something sort of similar to the movie; the theme of love sort of hits you least expect it.”
