Michael Bublé‘s cherished holiday album, simply titled Christmas, has reclaimed the top spot on Billboard‘s Top Holiday Albums chart, as of the week ending November 22, 2023. Originally released in 2011, this beloved collection has now achieved a remarkable total of 61 weeks at number one since its debut.
The Top Holiday Albums chart ranks the most popular seasonal albums in the United States based on multi-metric consumption, which includes album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit is defined as one album sold, ten individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from the album. The chart will continue to be published weekly until early January 2026, before it returns in October for the next holiday season.
Debuts from Country and Jazz Artists
In addition to Bublé’s success, several new projects have made their debut on the chart. Country artist Brad Paisley enters the list at number 15 with his album Snow Globe Town. This marks his second appearance on the holiday album tally, following the success of his earlier release, Brad Paisley Christmas, which peaked at number 2 in January 2007. Snow Globe Town features eight new songs alongside classic holiday favorites such as “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)” and “Jingle Bell Rock.” The album also ranks at number 15 on Top Album Sales, number 14 on Top Current Album Sales, and number 49 on Top Country Albums.
Trisha Yearwood also makes her mark with the new album Christmastime, debuting at number 36 on the Top Holiday Albums chart. This project includes fresh interpretations of classics like “My Favorite Things” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” as well as an original track titled “Merry Christmas, Valentine,” co-written and performed with Garth Brooks. Christmastime also debuts at number 50 on the Top Current Albums chart.
Completing the list of debuts is Herb Alpert‘s Christmas Time Is Here, which enters at number 44 on the Top Holiday Albums chart. This project represents Alpert’s third holiday album and features his renditions of well-known songs such as “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and “Santa Baby.” Alpert’s first holiday album, released in 1968, topped the now-retitled Christmas LPs chart, while his second holiday set, released in 2017, reached number 5 on the Top Holiday Albums chart.
As the holiday season approaches, these new entries highlight the vibrant and diverse landscape of seasonal music, continuing to engage audiences around the world. With Bublé’s album leading the way, the Top Holiday Albums chart promises to be a focal point for music lovers through the festive period.
