Minnie Mae Coolbaugh Miller, a cherished resident of Dallas, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 100. She spent her final moments at home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 28, 1925, Minnie was the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Synder Coolbaugh.
Growing up in a farming family, Minnie developed a range of skills that included sewing, baking, and canning. The aroma of her homemade bread was a staple in her neighborhood, drawing children to her home. A graduate of Kingston Township High School, she actively participated in various sports, showcasing her competitive spirit from a young age.
Minnie was not only a talented cook but also an avid hunter. Her collection of trophies displayed her prowess in the field, reflecting her deep connection to nature. She found solace in the woods and began each day with a crossword puzzle, ending it with her favorite television shows, *Jeopardy!* and *Wheel of Fortune*. Known as the family puzzle solver, she enjoyed the challenge and satisfaction these games brought her.
Family gatherings were a cornerstone of Minnie’s life, with picnics often punctuated by lively card games, where she frequently emerged victorious. For decades, she prepared Thanksgiving dinners for over twenty family members, transforming the holiday into a cherished tradition that united everyone.
Minnie dedicated herself to her faith, attending Grace Community Church and previously serving as Superintendent of Sunday Schools at East Dallas Methodist Church. Her commitment to her community and family was evident in all aspects of her life.
She is survived by her children, including Charles (Michelle) Miller, Kenneth (Nancy) Miller, Robert Miller, Constance (Jeffery) Fleming, Barbara (David) Buck, and Thomas (Miriam) Miller. Minnie also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, William Coolbaugh, and sister-in-law, Iva Coolbaugh. Predeceasing her were her husband, Elias Miller, and several siblings.
Funeral services are scheduled for October 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, located at the corner of Routes 29 and 118 in Pikes Creek. Pastor Dan Budgick of Grace Community Church will officiate the service. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow at Idetown Cemetery in Lehman Township.
