Free Wood Chips Available at Target Debris Site Starting Monday

URGENT UPDATE: Beltrami County has just announced that free wood chips will be available at the Target Debris Site, located at 2115 23rd St. NW, starting Monday, July 28, 2023. This initiative aims to provide residents with easy access to wood chips for landscaping and other uses, and it is set to run through August 8, 2023.

Wood chips will be distributed from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. An operator will be present on-site to assist with loading the wood chips, but please note that this service is restricted to heavy-duty trailers and trucks only. All other vehicles will be required to use a self-serve option.

To reach the site, residents should follow the Hannah Avenue detour leading to 23rd St. NW. Additionally, please be informed that the Target Debris Site is no longer accepting tree debris. Instead, all tree debris must be taken to the Demolition Landfill, situated at 2331 North Plantagenet Road SE, which is operating during regular hours. Notably, the landfill will also have extended hours on Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but will remain closed on Sundays and Mondays.

This opportunity to collect free wood chips is a timely resource for local residents looking to enhance their gardens or landscaping projects. Share this news with your neighbors and friends to ensure everyone can take advantage of this resource!
