Stolen Fire Truck Wrecks Vehicles in Everett, Police Search On

URGENT UPDATE: A stolen fire truck has wreaked havoc in Everett, Washington, causing extensive damage to multiple vehicles late Friday night. Police are actively searching for the suspect who commandeered the **2018 Pierce Enforcer Pumper**, leaving a trail of wrecked cars and debris across several locations.

The incident unfolded around **11 p.m.** when firefighters were responding to a medical emergency at an apartment building on the **2900 block of Hoyt Avenue**, roughly **30 miles north of Seattle**. While the crew was occupied, the fire truck was stolen, prompting a series of chaotic events.

Witnesses reported that the suspect drove the stolen fire engine at high speeds through residential streets, colliding with parked vehicles and landscaping at five different sites. The fire department stated, “The suspect drove the stolen fire engine at high speeds, causing significant damage.”

At least **ten parked vehicles** were damaged after the fire truck plowed into them on the **1000 block of E Marine View Drive**. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported, but the destruction left behind is substantial. Images released by the fire department depict totaled cars, downed street signs, and a significant amount of debris littering the streets.

The stolen fire truck, weighing approximately **35,000 pounds**, is now impounded for evidence. It was one of the department’s newer engines, and its theft poses a serious risk to community safety. “Losing a fire engine to such a reckless person not only jeopardizes the safety of our first responders but also puts our community at risk,” said **Everett Police Chief John DeRousse**.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information or video footage of the incident to come forward. “It is imperative that we hold the suspect accountable for their actions,” Chief DeRousse added.

**Everett Fire Chief Dave DeMarco** highlighted the fire department’s commitment to community safety, expressing gratitude that no one was injured in this reckless event. “We remain focused on safeguarding our community and our emergency response capabilities,” he stated.

As authorities continue their search for the suspect, residents are left in shock over the brazen theft and the chaos that ensued. This alarming incident underscores the need for enhanced security measures to protect vital emergency resources.
