Chicago White Sox Select Jaden Fauske in MLB Draft’s Second Round

The Chicago White Sox made a strategic choice in the 2025 MLB Draft by selecting local talent, choosing outfielder Jaden Fauske with the 44th overall pick. Fauske, a recent graduate from Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park, Illinois, stands at 6 feet 3 inches and weighs 200 pounds. Known for his impressive performance, he earned the title of Gatorade Player of the Year for baseball in Illinois.

During his senior season, Fauske showcased his skills with a remarkable batting average of .461 and an on-base percentage of .597. His statistics included six home runs, 36 runs batted in, 31 runs scored, and 29 stolen bases over the course of 34 games. These achievements secured him spots on both the 2024 Dick’s Sporting Goods All-American Classic and the Prep Baseball All-American Game rosters.

Fauske, who has committed to Louisiana State University (LSU), was rated as the 57th overall prospect by MLB.com leading into the draft. His versatility is notable; while primarily an outfielder, he also has experience as a catcher. According to MLB.com’s scouting report, Fauske possesses a “smooth left-handed stroke” and a disciplined hitting approach. He consistently demonstrates the ability to hit effectively against both high school and showcase competition.

The report highlights that while he rarely chases pitches or swings and misses, he can sometimes be overly passive. Fauske is adept at hitting the ball from gap to gap, with potential to develop 20-homer power as he matures physically. His speed outpaces that of most catchers, though it may be considered average for a center fielder. As an outfielder, he may ultimately transition to a corner position.

Fauske’s catching abilities are also acknowledged; he has reliable hands, average arm strength, and a quick transfer. This combination of skills indicates he could excel behind the plate if he dedicates time to refining his receiving and blocking techniques. Regardless of the position he ultimately plays, his offensive capabilities remain a significant asset.

In this year’s draft, Fauske marks the second selection for the White Sox, joining Billy Carlson, who was picked earlier in the first round. Carlson, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound shortstop from Corona High School in California, was chosen with the 10th overall pick. The White Sox are actively seeking to strengthen their roster through promising young talent in this draft.

As the White Sox continue to build their team for future seasons, Fauske’s local ties and impressive high school performance make him an exciting addition to their lineup.
