This year, the campaign has expanded to include nonprofits in Atwood and Wichita, reflecting the Foundation’s deep ties to areas where its affiliated financial planning firm, Legacy Financial Solutions, operates. With offices in Great Bend, Atwood, and Wichita, the Foundation aims to strengthen local communities by addressing pressing needs.
Many nonprofits are currently grappling with funding challenges due to recent government disruptions, making this support more crucial than ever. “These organizations serve on the front lines during a time when resources are stretched and needs are growing,” said Dena Hiss, cofounder of the Gifting Forward Foundation.
The campaign highlights the essential work of local nonprofits, which provide services ranging from food security and healthcare to education and economic development. The 12 recipients include well-known organizations such as the Community Food Bank of Barton County, CASA, and the Ronald McDonald House Wichita, all recognized for their commitment to enhancing the quality of life in their communities.
Founded in 2020 during the pandemic, the Gifting Forward Foundation has quickly grown, boasting over $500,000 in assets and more than $10 million pledged. The Foundation’s mission to “gift it forward” aims to empower communities through unrestricted, impactful giving.
As the campaign unfolds, a new recipient will be announced every business day, leading up to Christmas Eve. This initiative not only provides immediate financial support but also raises awareness about the ongoing work of these organizations.
