Ruth Ann Chepalonis, aged 74, of Exeter, passed away peacefully at her home on December 3, 2025. A loving wife to Anthony Chepalonis, the couple recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on October 13th. Ruth’s life, marked by devotion to family and faith, leaves a profound legacy cherished by all who knew her.
Born on February 17, 1951, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Lillian Sadowski. After completing her high school education, Ruth began her career at the Party Time Manufacturing Company in Hughestown. Beyond her professional commitments, she dedicated herself to her family, taking pride in her role as a homemaker.
Ruth’s faith played a significant role in her life. As a devoted Catholic, she found joy in her religious practices, which often intertwined with her hobbies, such as quilting. Her family recalls her warm spirit and kindness, traits that made her a beloved figure within her community.
Family and Community Remembrance
Ruth is survived by her husband, Anthony, and their two daughters, Lisa Stugart of Pittsburgh and Antoinette Jones of West Pittston. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Sonja, Gavin, and Amelia Stugart, along with Carson Jones. Her brother, Thomas Sadowski, resides in New Jersey, and she is remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews.
Ruth’s passing marks the loss of a woman whose life was a testament to the importance of family, faith, and kindness. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Anthony, Bernard, Edward, Jacob, and Joseph, as well as her sisters, Agnes Toole and Elizabeth Besermin.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a memorial visitation scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church of Corpus Christi Parish, located at 605 Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 AM, officiated by Monsignor John J. Sempa.
