Twin Valley Raiders Aim for Historic State Title on December 4

The Twin Valley Raiders are set to compete for their first state championship title in the PIAA Class 4A on December 4, 2025. After an impressive season with a record of 14-0, they will face off against the District 11 champion Southern Lehigh, who has an overall record of 14-1. The championship game will take place at Cumberland Valley High School at 19:00.

This season has been historic for the Raiders, who have already secured victories in the Lancaster-Lebanon Section 4 and the District 3 Class 4A championships. Their journey began 104 days ago under the blazing sun as they aimed for a title that now feels within reach. With temperatures dropping, the Raiders must not only focus on their game but also on staying warm as they approach this high-stakes matchup.

Reflecting on their recent semifinal triumph, the Raiders faced a challenging game against Aliquippa, narrowly winning 28-24. It was a game marked by high tension, with Twin Valley initially taking a commanding lead of 28-6 at halftime. However, Aliquippa mounted a strong second half, putting the Raiders’ defense to the test. Ultimately, a pivotal defensive play by Twin Valley’s Keenan Munn sealed the victory, knocking down a pass in the end zone during a desperate drive by the Quips.

Throughout the season, the Raiders have demonstrated their dominance, with key victories over formidable opponents like Wyomissing and Lampeter-Strasburg, defeating them by a combined score of 70-13. Their offensive line, averaging 287 rushing yards per game, has been nearly unstoppable, while their defense has proven to be one of the toughest in the state, allowing just 11 points per game.

As the Raiders prepare for the championship game, they will face a formidable opponent in Southern Lehigh. The Spartans have showcased their strength, most recently overcoming a 21-point deficit against Cardinal O’Hara to win their semifinal match 28-24. Southern Lehigh’s Sean Steckert stands out as a key player, having rushed for an impressive 2,911 yards and 41 touchdowns this season. The Spartans also boast Colton Sams, the school’s all-time leading passer, who has thrown for 2,543 yards and 34 touchdowns with only five interceptions.

Brett Myers, the Raiders’ head coach, is no stranger to high-pressure games. This will be his fourth appearance in a state championship, although it marks his first with Twin Valley. Previously, he led Middletown to three state title games, with mixed results.

The championship showdown is not just about personal achievements; both teams are determined to secure their place in history. The Raiders aim to finish their season undefeated, while Southern Lehigh seeks to make a mark with their inaugural state championship appearance.

As the game approaches, excitement builds among players and fans alike. With both teams having proven their mettle throughout the season, the upcoming clash at Cumberland Valley High School promises to be a thrilling contest between two heavyweights. The Twin Valley Raiders are ready to leave everything on the field in pursuit of that coveted state title.
