BREAKING: Ed Weeks has officially been cast as the male lead in CBS’s highly anticipated comedy pilot, Eternally Yours. This exciting development was confirmed by CBS earlier today, marking a significant step forward for the project.
The pilot, created by Ghosts showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, revolves around a vampire couple who have been married for 500 years. They face an unexpected challenge when their daughter begins dating a human. Weeks will portray Charles, a character originally of noble birth in the Middle Ages, who is now a modern-day bureaucrat struggling to adapt to contemporary life.
In a twist of irony, Charles must navigate the complexities of parenting a vampire daughter who has chosen to date a human, much to his disdain. CBS ordered the pilot for Eternally Yours in July 2023, after concluding a writers’ room focused on the concept. This project has been in the works for over a year, aiming to explore a fresh supernatural landscape distinct from the world of Ghosts.
The production comes from CBS Studios, where Port and Wiseman hold an overall deal. They are joined by executive producers Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang, who contribute to bringing this unique comedic vision to life.
Weeks is no stranger to the screen. He recently starred in Blumhouse’s thriller Drop and the indie horror comedy Damned If You Do. He gained popularity as a regular on The Mindy Project during its six-season run, along with appearances in shows like LA to Vegas and Not Dead Yet. His diverse experience positions him well for this intriguing role.
With filming expected to commence soon, Eternally Yours promises to deliver a blend of humor and supernatural themes that could resonate with audiences. As CBS continues to develop this project, viewers eagerly await more updates on its release and the potential for a fresh take on vampire narratives.
Stay tuned for further developments on this exciting new series that could become a must-watch for comedy lovers and supernatural enthusiasts alike.
