Fans of the popular series *Dexter: Resurrection* can look forward to a second season as creator and showrunner Clyde Phillips has confirmed that production is officially underway. During a recent discussion on *The Dark Passengers: A Dexter Podcast*, Phillips provided insights into the timeline for script development and filming.
Phillips shared that the writers’ room commenced on October 6, 2025, and the team anticipates needing “roughly five months” to finalize the scripts. This timeline suggests that writing will continue until approximately early March 2026. As is customary in television production, adjustments may occur once filming begins, indicating that script revisions could take place throughout production.
Filming Schedule and Cast Details
The filming for Season 2 is scheduled to commence on April 13, 2026, with production set to take place in New York City, which remains integral to the series’ narrative. Original cast members, including Michael C. Hall, who reprises his role as Dexter Morgan, as well as Jack Alcott and James Remar, are expected to return.
Although *Dexter: Resurrection* premiered on July 11, 2025, and concluded its first season on September 5, 2025, Paramount+ has yet to announce the premiere date for the upcoming season. Given the outlined writing and filming schedule, an announcement regarding the streaming window is anticipated once production begins.
The first season received a strong response from viewers and notable engagement metrics on Paramount+, prompting the platform to officially renew *Dexter: Resurrection* for a second season in October. The series revitalizes the narrative of Dexter Morgan, a serial killer targeting those who evade justice, as he navigates personal relationships, particularly with his son, Harrison.
As anticipation builds, fans eagerly await further updates on the series’ return and the evolution of Dexter’s story.
