Vicki Gunvalson Returns to ‘RHOC’ for 20th Season After Emotional Announcement

Vicki Gunvalson, known as the “OG of the OC,” is officially returning to *The Real Housewives of Orange County* for its upcoming 20th season. The announcement took place during a live taping at *BravoCon* in Las Vegas on November 14, 2023. Vicki, 63, was surprised on stage by Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen, who presented her with an orange and asked, “Vicki, would you join us as a housewife for Season 20?” The moment proved to be emotional for Gunvalson, who has been a central figure in the reality series since its inception in 2006.

After participating in 14 seasons, Vicki confirmed her departure from the series in January 2020 via a heartfelt Instagram post. “I will always be the OG of the OC, but it’s time to say goodbye to *The Real Housewives of Orange County*,” she wrote. In her farewell message, she expressed gratitude to fans and reflected on the remarkable experiences she had during her time on the show. Vicki noted her plans for the future, including launching a podcast titled *Whoop it Up with Vicki*.

Rekindled Friendships and New Beginnings

The announcement of Vicki’s return comes shortly after reports indicated that she has reconciled with former co-star Tamra Judge. The pair had a tumultuous relationship over the years but have reportedly mended their friendship. “We’ve had a lot of ups and downs in our 20 years. I always say we’re like sisters,” Tamra, 58, stated in an interview with *Us Weekly* on November 5, 2023. She described their relationship as one of “sisterly love,” filled with little arguments typical of close relationships.

Vicki also shared her perspective on their friendship, noting that they do not need to apologize for their past conflicts. “I just have a different viewpoint on the show, and it’s a strong viewpoint. I can’t do toxic,” she remarked. This renewed friendship could bring new dynamics to the show, especially as both women have expressed their desire to focus on more positive interactions.

Vicki’s daughter, Briana Culberson, has previously indicated that her mother struggled following her exit from the show. During an appearance on *Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen* in May 2021, Briana mentioned that Vicki seemed to be adjusting to life without the series. “I think she misses it and she misses the whole process and everybody,” Briana said, highlighting the emotional connection her mother has with the show.

Current Cast and Future Expectations

As Vicki re-enters the fold, the current cast of *RHOC* for Season 19 includes familiar faces such as Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador, Heather Dubrow, Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson, Jennifer Pedranti, and Katie Ginella. The addition of Vicki promises to shake things up, and fans are eager to see how her presence will influence the dynamics among the cast.

With her return, Vicki Gunvalson aims to reignite the excitement that has characterized her long-standing involvement with the franchise. While she embarks on this new chapter, her fans remain hopeful for engaging storylines and memorable moments in the upcoming season.

The combination of Vicki’s experience and her rekindled friendships could lead to an intriguing season for *The Real Housewives of Orange County*. As anticipation builds, the reality star encourages her fans to join her on this journey, promising more updates through her podcast and other projects in the works.
