Broncos Defense Dominates Raiders in Narrow AFC West Victory

The Denver Broncos secured a hard-fought victory against the Las Vegas Raiders, winning 10-7 in a closely contested match on November 7, 2025. The Broncos’ defense was the standout, recording six sacks, blocking a punt, and intercepting a pass. This performance helped the team maintain its momentum in the AFC West division, pushing their win streak to seven games.

The game unfolded in a gritty manner, with both teams struggling to find offensive rhythm. The Broncos outgained the Raiders with a total of 220 yards compared to the Raiders’ 188 yards. Both teams managed to achieve ten first downs and faced similar penalties, with each team flagged eleven times. The time of possession was evenly split, with both teams holding the ball for around 30 minutes.

Key Plays and Performances

The Raiders initially took the lead with a 4-yard rushing touchdown from running back Ashton Jeanty, marking a promising start with about three minutes left in the first quarter. However, the Broncos responded just before halftime, when quarterback Bo Nix threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Troy Franklin, leveling the score at 7-7.

A pivotal moment came late in the third quarter when linebacker JL Skinner blocked a punt from A.J. Cole. The Broncos capitalized on this opportunity, with Tyler Badie recovering the loose ball, leading to a 32-yard field goal from kicker Wil Lutz. This field goal ultimately provided the Broncos with the winning margin.

Nix completed 16 of 28 passes for 150 yards, contributing one touchdown but also throwing two interceptions. Broncos running back JK Dobbins was effective on the ground, accumulating 77 yards on 18 carries. For the Raiders, Jeanty finished with 60 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, while quarterback Geno Smith completed 16 of 26 passes for 143 yards and one interception. Smith encountered injury concerns in the fourth quarter due to a quad/thigh bruise and will be evaluated for his availability in the next game.

Defensive Contributions

The Broncos’ defense played a vital role in securing the victory, as linebacker Nik Bonitto led the charge with 1.5 sacks. Other key defensive contributions included sacks from safety Talanoa Hufanga, defensive tackle Malcolm Roach, and defensive lineman Zach Allen. Linebacker Jonathan Cooper and defensive linemen Eyioma Uwazurike and John Franklin-Myers added half-sacks, illustrating the collective effort of the Broncos’ defensive unit.

As the season progresses, the Raiders (2-7) will host the Dallas Cowboys (3-5-1) on November 17 in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, the Broncos (8-2) will prepare to face the Kansas City Chiefs (5-4) on November 16 in Denver, aiming to extend their winning streak and solidify their position within the division.
