Nikki Garcia has revealed that she has cautiously re-entered the dating scene following her divorce from Artem Chigvintsev. However, she quickly decided to pause her romantic pursuits. During a recent episode of “The Nikki & Brie Show” podcast, aired on June 30, Nikki, 41, shared insights into her dating life with her twin sister Brie Garcia and guest Charlotte Flair.
Brie, 41, playfully inquired if Nikki was dating, to which Nikki responded, “I did a few,” referring to dates. Nikki’s divorce from Chigvintsev, 43, was finalized in November 2024. Despite her initial foray into dating, Nikki emphasized that her primary focus remains on her 4-year-old son, Matteo, whom she shares with Chigvintsev.
Navigating Life Post-Divorce
Nikki explained that being a mother has shifted her priorities, stating, “At his age right now, I get so much love that I realized this is all the love I need and want right now.” She candidly admitted that after a few dates, she felt disinterested, saying, “I’m not even going to waste time and energy, like, I’m just too tired.”
Charlotte Flair, who finalized her divorce from Andrade El Idolo in October 2024, echoed Nikki’s sentiments. Despite not having children, Flair expressed her disinterest in using dating apps, preferring to meet people the “old-fashioned way.”
The Philosophy of Self-Love
Both Nikki and Flair have embraced the philosophy of “dating yourself.” Nikki articulated, “You have to date yourself and you can’t love anything else in life till you love yourself first.” Brie, who is married to Bryan Danielson, praised both women for their personal growth, noting, “You both are glowing, and I feel like you both are in your best eras.”
“It’s always amazing to me when I see divorces happen and I see the people who glow. The people who seem happier, who are living their best life,” Brie shared.
From Dancing Partners to Divorce
Nikki’s relationship with Chigvintsev began when they were partnered on “Dancing With the Stars” in early 2019. They became engaged later that year and welcomed their son in July 2020. The couple married in August 2022, but their relationship faced challenges, leading to Nikki filing for divorce in September 2024. This decision followed Chigvintsev’s arrest for alleged domestic violence, although charges were later dropped.
Charlotte Flair, meanwhile, has had her share of marital experiences. She was previously married to Riki Johnson and Thomas Latimer before her marriage to El Idolo, whom she wed in May 2022. Their divorce was finalized in October 2024.
Looking Ahead
Despite the encouragement from her sister Brie to explore dating again, Nikki remains focused on personal fulfillment and motherhood. Brie noted that during a recent trip to New York City for Fanatics Fest, there were many attractive men, but Nikki and Flair remain content with their current paths.
Nikki’s journey reflects a broader trend among individuals post-divorce, where self-discovery and personal growth take precedence over immediate romantic involvement. As she continues to navigate her new chapter, Nikki’s story resonates with many who find strength and happiness in self-love and personal development.
