BREAKING: Veteran production executive Louie Provost has officially joined Sony Pictures as the new executive vice president of production, a move expected to reshape the studio’s cinematic landscape. The announcement was made just moments ago, marking a significant shift in leadership for the renowned film studio.

Provost brings over 15 years of experience from his successful tenure at Walt Disney Studios, where he played a crucial role in producing blockbuster hits. Notably, he was involved in the production of the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch, which has become the year’s biggest box office success, surpassing $1 billion globally. His impressive portfolio also includes the $1 billion sensation Aladdin, along with beloved titles such as the Emmy Award-winning Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers and the visually stunning Maleficent films.

“We’re excited to welcome Louie to the Columbia family,” stated Peter Kang, the newly appointed president of production at Columbia Pictures. “I met him early in his career and watched as he championed films that became global phenomena—delivering big movie moments filled with heart.” This leadership change signals Sony’s commitment to storytelling that resonates with audiences worldwide.

Provost began his journey in the industry in 2007, starting as an assistant to then-president of production Oren Aviv.
