The financial burden of maintaining post-pregnancy beauty has become a topic of interest, particularly among celebrities who appear to return to their pre-pregnancy bodies shortly after childbirth. Influencer Hong Young Gi, known for her youthful appearance, recently shared insights into her beauty regimen and the costs associated with it during a YouTube interview.
In the discussion, Hong revealed that she gained a substantial 31 kg during her first pregnancy. Unfortunately, she experienced postpartum depression, which led to a significant loss of appetite and subsequent weight loss. She candidly admitted that her current physique is not the result of healthy weight loss practices. Instead, she emphasized the importance of addressing changes in the body that occur after childbirth, particularly concerning skin and hair.
Beauty Procedures and Costs
Hong highlighted the challenges many mothers face, stating, “After you have a baby, you lose a ton of hair, and your belly gets all flabby, and your face too.” She pointed out that issues like skin blemishes and hair loss are common, suggesting that the most effective solution is often medical intervention.
She disclosed that she undergoes lifting procedures such as Shrink and Thermage at least once a year. The costs associated with these treatments are significant; Hong estimated that she has spent around ₩100 million KRW (approximately $70,900 USD) on various beauty procedures. She explained that just starting with Thermage can cost around ₩1.00 million KRW (about $709 USD). Additionally, she mentioned having undergone a nose revision surgery, which alone cost her ₩10.0 million KRW (approximately $7,090 USD).
Hong Young Gi’s candid remarks shed light on the extensive effort and financial investment that public figures often make to maintain their appearance after childbirth. This transparency presents a more realistic view of the pressures associated with beauty standards in the celebrity world.
Recently, Hong has also sparked controversy following revelations about her personal life, including that she had her first child with a minor, leading to widespread discussions on social media.
