Patricia Joan Thieman, aged 83, passed away on September 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and family. Born in Grand Island, Nebraska, to the late Earl and Blanche Miller Bowen, her life was marked by devotion to her family and a passion for travel and literature.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Thieman, and her brother, Ronald Bowen. Patricia’s journey began at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she met Richard, the love of her life. Together, they raised two sons, Scott Richard Thieman and Christopher James Thieman, while Patricia worked as an office assistant to support her family.
Throughout her life, Patricia cherished her family connections. She enjoyed traveling with her brother and sister-in-law, Otto and Doris Thiemann, creating lasting memories. In her leisure time, she found joy in reading, watching her favorite television shows, and celebrating with a birthday margarita.
Patricia is survived by her sons and five grandchildren: Clayton, Cullan, and Connor Thieman, along with Isabella and Elliana Wilson. Her family remembers her as a loving mother and grandmother whose spirit will continue to resonate in their lives.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on September 27, 2025, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, located at 424 Kings Grant Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23452. The service will be officiated by Pastor Matt Prince.
