In Charleston, Barbara Austin, aged 77, died on September 19. Funeral arrangements are being handled by McAlister-Smith’s James Island Chapel.
Also in Charleston, James Joseph Hlavac, 74, passed away on the same day, with arrangements managed by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services’ North Charleston Chapel.
In nearby North Charleston, Dannie Ray Powell, 74, died on September 18. His arrangements are also being taken care of by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services’ North Charleston Chapel.
Moving to Berkeley County, Harry Marshall Duncan, 81, of Moncks Corner, passed away on September 17. His funeral arrangements are being conducted by Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services’ Ladson Chapel.

Additionally, in Savannah, Georgia, Betty Louise Smoak, 85, passed away on September 19. Her arrangements are being handled by Brice Herndon’s Walterboro Chapel.
