Jean Elizabeth Abramson passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and family. Born on April 3, 1942, in Virginia, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Steven Matthew Devich and Dorothy Mae Devich.
Throughout her life, Jean was a devoted wife and mother, cherished by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Abramson, as well as her sister, Judie Kauchick, and sisters-in-law, Arlene Clay and Lois Kuhlmey. Her passing leaves a void felt deeply by her loved ones.
Jean is survived by her children: Steven (Tami) Abramson, Kathryn (Mark) Tesija, and Margo Abramson. She had a special bond with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her G.G. They include Steven (Laine) Abramson, Andrew (Kelsey) Abramson, Daniel (Karin) Abramson, Andrew Tesija of Marburg, Germany, and John Tesija. Additionally, she is survived by six great-grandchildren, her sister Margo (Ed) Essman of Nacogdoches, Texas, and her niece Cory Clay (Ginger Backus).
Memorial Service Details
A memorial service honoring Jean will take place on September 24, 2025Asbury United Methodist Church, located at 6822 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN 55807.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kabetogama Community Club Inc, situated at 9707 Gamma Rd, Kabetogama, MN 56669, or to the Voyageurs Conservancy, which can be supported through their website at voyageurs.org/donate.
Jean’s memory will continue to live on through the lives she touched and the love she shared.
