Sony Pictures Television has renewed its first-run feature film slate deal with Turkish pay TV operator Sinema TV. This agreement extends a partnership originally established in 2021, reinforcing the strong relationship between the two entities. Under the terms of the new contract, Sinema TV will hold exclusive pay-1 window rights in Turkey for a substantial number of Sony’s recent and classic film titles.

The deal encompasses a wide array of films, including upcoming releases such as “Karate Kid: Legends,” “28 Years Later,” “Until Dawn,” “I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025),” and “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.” Additionally, the agreement covers popular titles from Sony’s extensive library, featuring franchises like “Spider-Man,” “Jumanji,” “Venom,” “Men in Black,” “Karate Kid,” and “Hotel Transylvania.”

As the landscape of cinema and pay-TV in Turkey evolves, traditional operators like Sinema TV face increasing competition from streaming platforms such as Netflix and Disney+. Despite this shift, operators that secure major studio deals are still managing to maintain their market position.

In a statement regarding the renewed agreement, Sinema TV’s CEO Faruk Boyacıoğlu expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to expand our long-standing partnership with Sony Pictures Television with a multi-year Pay 1 deal.”

Commenting on the deal, Mark Young, Executive Vice President of Distribution and Networks at Sony Pictures Television, remarked, “It is fantastic to extend this major feature film deal with Sinema, and continue our collaborative relationship with the team there to bring some of the most exciting and popular titles from SPE’s current feature film slate, as well as those from our vast features library, to audiences across Turkey.”

This strategic partnership aims to enhance the film offerings available to Turkish audiences, ensuring that they have access to a diverse and engaging selection of entertainment. As both companies move forward, they are poised to navigate the competitive environment of film distribution and pay-TV in Turkey, leveraging their established relationship to deliver quality content to viewers.
