The 39th edition of AFI Fest is set to begin with the highly anticipated film, “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.” Scheduled for the opening night on October 22, 2023, this film captures the essence of an iconic artist during a pivotal moment in his career. Directed by Scott Cooper, the movie features Jeremy Allen White portraying Bruce Springsteen as he records his acclaimed album, “Nebraska.”
The film, based on the book by Warren Zanes, also includes performances from notable actors such as Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, Odessa Young, Gaby Hoffman, Marc Maron, and David Krumholtz. It delves into Springsteen’s life during 1981 and 1982, a period when he was crafting music that would resonate deeply with fans for generations.
