Mo Bamba Signs Urgent 1-Year Deal with Raptors, Sources Confirm

UPDATE: Veteran center Mo Bamba has officially signed a one-year deal with the Toronto Raptors, his agents Mark Bartelstein and Greer Love confirmed to ESPN today. This move comes as the Raptors seek to bolster their frontcourt with much-needed size ahead of the current NBA season.

Bamba, standing at a towering 7 feet, averaged an impressive 16.5 points and 12 rebounds with the G League’s Salt Lake City Stars, showcasing his potential as he enters his eighth NBA season. Last year, he played for the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Pelicans, where he averaged 4.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in 32 games.

This signing is particularly significant as the Raptors prepared for their game against the Golden State Warriors at Scotiabank Arena today, where they held an 18-14 record. Bamba’s height and skills could play a crucial role in strengthening the Raptors’ performance in upcoming matches.

Bamba was selected as the No. 6 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. Over his career, he has participated in 364 games, averaging 6.8 points and 5.4 rebounds. His addition to the Raptors signals a strategic shift as they aim to enhance their chances in a competitive league.

Fans are eager to see how Bamba will fit into the Raptors’ system, especially with the season still in its early stages. As the news develops, all eyes will be on Bamba’s integration into the team and how his performance impacts the Raptors’ playoff aspirations.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
