UPDATE: The Georgia Bulldogs have secured a commanding victory over Florida A&M, triumphing 87-57 at Stegeman Coliseum on November 17, 2025. This win maintains Georgia’s perfect record, advancing them to 5-0 this season.
The Bulldogs showcased a balanced offensive attack and relentless defensive pressure, never trailing during the game. Starring in this dominant performance were Jake Wilkins and Blue Cain, who led the team with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Wilkins also achieved career highs with four steals and four blocks, pivotal in forcing the Rattlers into a staggering 24 turnovers.
Georgia’s defense was relentless, highlighted by a significant rebounding advantage of 14, as they outmatched Florida A&M on the boards. This allowed the Bulldogs to convert numerous second-chance opportunities, showcasing their depth and determination.
“We played a good first half, but we weren’t sharp in the second half,” said head coach Mike White. He acknowledged the team’s need for improvement, especially in terms of shooting consistency. “I know we shoot it better than this… I hope it starts on Friday night,” he added, looking ahead to upcoming challenges.
Freshman Jeremiah Wilkinson also made headlines, scoring 11 points and extending his double-digit scoring streak to five games. Meanwhile, Somto Cyril added 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting, marking his first double-digit performance of the year. Off the bench, Dylan James provided a significant boost with 10 points, indicating the depth of Georgia’s squad.
Despite the impressive scoreline, White expressed concerns over a dip in defensive energy during the second half. However, he praised Wilkins for his evolving defensive prowess and overall gameplay, stating, “He’s really growing defensively with his awareness.”
Florida A&M, now 0-4, struggled against Georgia’s size and defensive schemes. Coach Robert McCullum acknowledged the difficulties his team faced but commended their effort and resilience.
As the Bulldogs continue to build momentum, their sights are set on upcoming matches where they aim to refine their shooting and enhance their overall game strategy. Georgia’s next test promises to be a critical one, as they look to not only maintain their unbeaten streak but also address the shooting challenges that have surfaced.
This commanding victory underscores Georgia’s potential as a powerhouse this season, making them a team to watch closely as the competition heats up.
