“The Devil Wears Prada 2 Welcomes Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, and More”

A new casting update for The Devil Wears Prada 2 reveals that the sequel is expanding its ensemble with several high-profile additions. Currently in production under Disney’s 20th Century Studios, the film promises to bring fresh talent into the glamorous world of Runway magazine, nearly two decades after the release of the original film.

Among the notable new cast members are Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, and Conrad Ricamora, according to a report by Variety. The sequel is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, with returning stars including Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, who reprise their iconic roles. Additionally, Tracie Thoms will return as Lily, and Tibor Feldman will reprise his role as Irv Ravitz.

Simone Ashley is joining the cast in a yet-to-be-disclosed role, while Kenneth Branagh will take on the character of Miranda Priestly’s husband. Notably, Adrian Grenier, who portrayed Nate Cooper in the original film, is absent from the sequel.

The plot of The Devil Wears Prada 2 will follow Miranda Priestly (played by Streep) as she navigates the challenges posed by the decline of traditional magazine publishing. A power struggle emerges with Blunt’s character, who has risen to a top executive position at a luxury fashion group controlling critical advertising revenue. The film reunites director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, with producer Karen Rosenfelt also returning.

Lucy Liu, widely recognized for her roles in Charlie’s Angels and Kill Bill, reunites with Theroux, who starred alongside her in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. Theroux’s recent projects include Beetlejuice and The Girl on the Train. B.J. Novak, known for his work on The Office, directed the 2022 film Vengeance. Pauline Chalamet gained attention for her performance in The Sex Lives of College Girls.

The original 2006 film, based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel, grossed an impressive $326 million worldwide and earned Streep an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.

The anticipation surrounding The Devil Wears Prada 2 reflects the lasting impact of the original film and the excitement for its return to the big screen. As production continues, fans of the franchise eagerly await what promises to be another stylish installment in the world of high fashion.
