Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced a partnership with Saudi entrepreneur Mohammed Khalid Sabbagh to open a new hotel in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Operating under the Ramada by Wyndham brand, the hotel will be situated in the Al Jamawat district, approximately 5 kilometers from the Holy Mosque. This property aims to cater to both domestic and international pilgrims visiting the city.
The upcoming hotel will feature 77 guest rooms designed to meet the varied needs of travellers. Plans include an all-day dining venue, fitness facilities, and accommodations tailored for a diverse clientele. In a statement, Mohammad Haj Hassan, the KSA country director for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to collaborate with Sabbagh on this exciting development in Madinah, a city of deep spiritual and cultural importance.”
The announcement coincides with significant growth in Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector. In 2023, the kingdom welcomed over 110 million visitors, with approximately 30 million arriving from outside the country. This surge aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, which emphasizes expanding tourism infrastructure through substantial investment. The addition of the Ramada by Wyndham Madinah is part of these ongoing efforts to bolster the hospitality industry and accommodate increasing visitor numbers.
Mohammed Khalid Sabbagh highlighted the importance of this project, stating, “It is an honour to bring the renowned Ramada by Wyndham brand to the holy city of Madinah. This project represents my personal commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and contributing to the Kingdom’s rapidly growing tourism and hospitality sector.”
The new hotel will enhance Wyndham’s existing footprint in Saudi Arabia, which includes properties in key cities such as Riyadh, Mecca, Jeddah, and Dammam. Earlier in October 2025, Wyndham’s Trademark Collection Courtland Grand Hotel completed a significant renovation, offering refurbished guest rooms and an updated restaurant.
This strategic move by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its presence across the Kingdom and supporting its ambitions to become a leading global tourism destination.
