Former NFL player Matt Kalil has initiated legal action against his ex-wife, Haley Kalil, following her comments about their marriage on social media. The lawsuit, filed on January 6, 2026, alleges that Haley made “invasive commentary” regarding Matt’s anatomy during a livestream in November 2025, which he claims has caused “unwanted attention” and emotional distress.
In the Twitch livestream, Haley discussed personal aspects of their relationship, stating that the size of Matt’s penis was a significant factor contributing to their breakup. Matt, aged 36, contends that her remarks imply that his genitalia played a primary role in their divorce, which he asserts has subjected his family to ongoing public scrutiny. The lawsuit, first reported by TMZ, seeks damages exceeding $75,000.
Haley, 33, expressed her shock at the legal filing, stating, “I am genuinely shocked and incredibly hurt upon receiving the news of this filing.” She described the emotional toll of litigation and lamented that both families were being subjected to this situation. In her statement to Us Weekly, she defended her previous comments, asserting that they were taken out of context. During the livestream, she maintained that she spoke highly of Matt, calling him the “greatest guy in the world.”
In her candid remarks during the November 2025 livestream, Haley shared that their marital issues were complex and not solely related to physical aspects. She revealed, “I was going to try it all — therapists, doctors… It was impossible unless you’re going to be in tears.”
The legal documents filed by Matt claim that Haley’s statements have degraded their relationship and suggested that her comments were not only harmful but also financially beneficial to her through increased visibility on social media platforms. The lawsuit describes the emotional burden placed on Matt’s family due to the “degrading and deeply personal statements” about him.
Haley has previously addressed the fallout from the livestream, emphasizing to TMZ Sports that her comments represented only a fragment of their marriage struggles. “It’s unfortunate that only one fragment is being amplified because it doesn’t capture the full story of how meaningful things were to me,” she remarked.
Since their marriage in 2015, which followed a brief engagement of three months, both individuals have moved on in different ways. Matt retired from professional football in 2019 and has since remarried model Keilani Asmus, with whom he shares a son. Meanwhile, Haley remains single but has expressed that Matt continues to be one of her closest friends despite their separation.
As the legal proceedings unfold, both parties appear poised to navigate a contentious chapter in their post-marriage lives. With public interest in their story intensifying, the implications of this lawsuit could extend beyond their personal circumstances, raising questions about privacy and social media’s role in contemporary relationships.
