Boys Basketball Rankings Heat Up with Sierra Canyon’s Strong Start

The latest boys basketball rankings have emerged, showcasing the top teams in the game as of November 25, 2025. Sierra Canyon leads the pack with a perfect record of 2-0, highlighted by a stunning debut from Brandon McCoy, who scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a commanding victory over JSerra at Pauley Pavilion. McCoy’s performance included an impressive nine dunks, underscoring his potential as a game-changer.

Following closely is Notre Dame, holding a record of 2-1. Their only setback came against the top-ranked Santa Margarita, a match that tested their resilience early in the season. Harvard-Westlake stands at 1-1, having secured a thrilling buzzer-beater win against San Gabriel Academy but narrowly lost by two points to St. John Bosco. They face tough challenges ahead with upcoming games against Long Beach Millikan and Bishop Gorman from Las Vegas.

Crespi sits in fourth place with a strong 2-0 record, showcasing promising talent as Isaiah and Carter Barnes continue to develop as potential college prospects. Village Christian, boasting a perfect 3-0 record, features standout freshman guard Will Conroy, who is quickly gaining recognition as a top player in the area.

St. Francis, with a 2-2 record, features the imposing 7-foot-3 center Cherif Millogo, who has been instrumental in their games, though the team still faces challenges in securing victories. Legacy Christian is at 1-1, with wing Xzavier Miller showing promise as an NCAA Division I prospect.

Thousand Oaks has made a statement with a single game victory over Ventura, winning decisively with a score of 92-53. Cleveland, yet to secure a win at 0-1, faced a tough opponent in Crespi but remains a contender for the City Section title. Alemany has started strong with two wins against Chatsworth and Blair, although their path ahead looks less challenging.

Valencia has also entered the rankings with a perfect 3-0 start, including a key victory over Heritage Christian. Junior Stephen Irons is currently averaging 15.7 points and 12 rebounds per game, contributing significantly to the team’s success. Meanwhile, Saugus prepares to kick off their season this week, while Knight has secured a win against Vasquez, setting the stage for a tough matchup against Windward in the upcoming Chaminade tournament. Birmingham will also be looking to make its mark as their season starts this week.

On the bubble this week are Chaminade, Westlake, and Heritage Christian, all aiming for a spot in the top rankings as the season progresses. The landscape of boys basketball is heating up, and fans can expect thrilling matchups and standout performances in the weeks to come.
