Tyngsboro High Celebrates January Students of the Month

Tyngsboro High School has honored its Students of the Month for January, recognizing four outstanding individuals for their academic achievements and contributions to the community. The students—Kiley Hogan, Kweku Ofosuhene, Themistocles Pelekoudas, and Mia Puopolo—have demonstrated excellence in various fields, from athletics to community service.

Kiley Hogan: A Leader in Athletics and Academics

Kiley Hogan, daughter of Tim Hogan and Jennifer Brooks, has received the Outstanding Achievement in Business Award, along with the Core Values Award and the Tiger Pride Award. A dedicated athlete, she has made significant contributions as a four-year member and captain of the varsity softball team, leading them to the State Finals for two consecutive seasons. Additionally, Hogan was twice named the Lowell Sun Player of the Year. Beyond her athletic endeavors, Kiley has actively volunteered for the Tyngsboro youth and participated in the Give Kids the World service trip. She has a passion for English and plans to attend Boston University, where she will continue her softball career while studying education.

Kweku Ofosuhene: Academic Excellence and Community Engagement

Kweku Ofosuhene, son of Fred and Emma Ofosuhene, has garnered numerous accolades, including the University of Rochester Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award, the Core Values Award, and the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. He is a multifaceted student involved in DECA and the PALS Program, as well as an athlete on the varsity track and field and soccer teams. Kweku’s commitment to community service is evident through his volunteer work at the African Community Center of Lowell and at his church’s media team. With a keen interest in world history, he aspires to earn a bachelor’s degree followed by a master’s degree in his chosen field.

Themistocles Pelekoudas: A Scholar with Diverse Interests

Themistocles Pelekoudas, son of Linda and Nikolaos Pelekoudas, stands out as a two-year member of the National Honor Society. His accolades include Outstanding Achievement in Science and the Brown Alumnus Book Award, among others. Themistocles participates in DECA and the ASL Club, and he has also spent a season on the wrestling team. His community involvement includes serving as an altar boy, volunteering at local Greek Food Festivals, and participating in the Give Kids the World service trip. He enjoys playing guitar, Greek dance, and cooking, and he aims to pursue a career as a biomedical engineer, eventually transitioning to teaching and restaurant ownership.

Mia Puopolo: Committed to Service and Academic Success

Mia Puopolo, daughter of Erica and Charlie Puopolo, is also a two-year member of the National Honor Society. Her achievements include Outstanding Achievement in World Language and Social Studies, as well as the Saint Michael’s College Book Award for Volunteerism and Service. Mia serves as secretary of the National Honor Society and is active in HOSA, DECA, and as a PALS leader. A talented athlete, she is a member of the varsity track team and received the MVP award in 2024. She also participates in fencing, where she was recognized with the Sportsmanship Award. Mia’s community service work includes the Give Kids the World service trip and the Boston MedFlight patient reunion. She plans to pursue a career in nursing while enjoying hobbies such as baking and spending time with her dog.

The recognition of these four remarkable students highlights their dedication, leadership, and commitment to both their studies and their communities. Tyngsboro High School continues to foster an environment where students can thrive academically and socially, preparing them for future success.
