The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS) has announced the nominees for its prestigious 2026 awards. Leading the film categories are the titles Frankenstein, One Battle After Another, Sinners, Weapons, and Wicked: For Good, each receiving three nominations. Notably, all but Weapons were also included in the Oscars’ shortlist for the makeup and hairstyling category.
On the television front, both Dancing With the Stars and Saturday Night Live garnered four nominations, including recognition for the SNL 50th anniversary special. Other nominees in the television category include Monster: The Ed Gein Story, Stranger Things, and Abbott Elementary, each with three nominations. A tie in voting has resulted in six nominations for the best contemporary make-up in a television series, limited series, or movie for TV.
The MUAHS Awards celebrate the artistry and creativity of makeup artists and hairstylists across various entertainment platforms. Among the special recognitions this year, Greg Nelson, an Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning makeup artist, along with Judy Alexander Cory, an Oscar-nominated hairstylist, will receive lifetime achievement awards. Additionally, the Vanguard Award will be presented to Emmy-nominated makeup artist Michael Johnson.
