Erin Bates Paine, known for her role on the reality show Bringing Up Bates, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following complications after the birth of her seventh child, Henry, in September 2023. The 34-year-old reality star’s husband, Chad Paine, announced via Instagram that Erin experienced septic shock due to a severe urinary tract infection and kidney infection.
The couple welcomed Henry, who is currently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), just a week prior to Chad’s announcement. They are also parents to six other children: Carson, Brooklyn, Everly, Holland, Finley, and William.
Chad expressed gratitude for the support they have received during this challenging time. He wrote, “We wanted to thank each and every one of you for all the prayers and support you have given on our behalf.” He highlighted Erin’s strength and resilience, stating, “She has been fighting through it and has been such a light and sweet testimony of grace to nurses, staff, and doctors alike.”
Erin’s labor was described as being longer and more intense than her previous deliveries, leading to the complications that necessitated her hospitalization. Chad noted that Erin remains in the ICU as medical professionals continue to monitor her condition and provide treatment.
Support from fans has poured in, with many taking to social media to offer prayers and well wishes. One follower commented, “Praying that infection would leave her body in the name of Jesus!!” Another added, “Get well soon Erin.”
Earlier in the week, Chad shared the joy of Henry’s arrival, expressing appreciation for the prayers directed towards Erin’s recovery. He wrote, “We thank the Lord for carrying us through and for the gift of this precious boy.”
Despite the difficulties, the family is holding onto hope and faith during this challenging period. As Erin continues her recovery, they are grateful for the outpouring of support from their community.
