UB School of Management Celebrates Class of 2029 with Welcome Party

The University at Buffalo School of Management is set to welcome its new cohort of undergraduate students, the Class of 2029, during a lively on-campus party. This event marks a continuation of the school’s tradition of fostering leadership and community engagement among its students.

Event Details and Activities

Scheduled for August 22, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the gathering will take place at the Jacobs Management Center in Buffalo, NY. Depending on the weather, festivities are planned for the outdoor Paula T. Agrusa Plaza and surrounding lawns, with alternative indoor arrangements available if necessary.

The welcome party aims to facilitate connections among new students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with various student clubs and organizations, enjoy food and entertainment, and participate in unique activities such as mechanical bull rides and human foosball. An airbrush artist will also provide temporary UB-branded tattoos and friendship bracelet-making stations.

A Focus on Community and Learning

During the event, students will learn about the new Introduction to Management for Majors course, designed to help them acclimate to their respective programs and establish rapport with faculty and staff. Ananth Iyer, Dean of the UB School of Management, will be present to greet the incoming students and encourage a spirit of collaboration and support within the school community.

As the academic year unfolds, this event serves as a vital opportunity for students to forge lasting relationships with peers and mentors, thus enriching their educational experience. The highlight of the day will be a group photo of the incoming Class of 2029, scheduled for 2:30 p.m..

For more information about the event or to arrange interviews, please contact Kevin Manne, Associate Director of Communications for the School of Management, at 716-645-5238 or via email at [email protected].
