A series of suspected arson attacks in Beersheba resulted in the rescue of 15 individuals, including children and infants, from smoke-filled apartments. The incidents occurred early on November 20, 2025, affecting nine residential buildings across the city. The Israel Fire and Rescue Authority confirmed that the victims required medical assistance following their dramatic escapes from the flames.
The attacks targeted multiple locations, including Aliyah Street, Derech Shimshon Street, Rabbi Uziel Street, Tabenkin Street, Tel Hai Street, Derech Hameshachrerim, Hogla Street, Moriah Street, and Radak Square. Firefighters received numerous emergency calls about the blazes and quickly mobilized to manage the situation.
Upon arrival, emergency responders began extinguishing fires in building lobbies, electrical cabinets, and shelters. They promptly initiated search operations to locate residents trapped inside the flames. As part of their rescue efforts, firefighters advised those who were unable to escape to seal their doors and windows with wet rags and to remain in interior rooms until help arrived.
In connection with the fires, a 16-year-old Jewish minor has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the arson incidents. The investigation into the cause of the fires is ongoing, as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding this alarming event.
