UPDATE: A new parking garage at Hector International Airport in Fargo has just opened its doors, providing 750 of the 1,000 total spaces to the public today. This development comes as a part of a major upgrade to enhance the travel experience, with the remaining spots expected to be available by the end of the month.
The first level of the parking structure is designated for drop-offs and pick-ups only, while construction continues near the terminal area. The new garage offers covered parking, ensuring that vehicles are protected from harsh weather conditions like snow and hail—an important feature for travelers in this region.
“We’re doing everything we can to make it as easy as possible for people to recognize where they’re supposed to go and how to get there,” said Shawn Dobberstein, executive director of the Municipal Airport Authority. Clear signage has been implemented to guide travelers effectively, whether they are picking up, dropping off, or parking.
The overall project cost $43 million and marks a significant investment in improving airport facilities. Notably, the former drop-off area closed to traffic on August 4, 2023, and is anticipated to reopen in February 2024.
This new parking ramp is expected to greatly enhance convenience for travelers, making the airport experience smoother and more efficient. With more spaces coming soon, passengers are encouraged to take advantage of this new facility as soon as possible.
Stay tuned for further updates on the completion of the remaining parking spaces and other developments at Hector International Airport.
