UPDATE: Excitement is building as the North Platte Area Children’s Museum and Golden Spike Tower & Visitors Center prepare for the highly anticipated Rail Days event on August 2, 2023. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Cody Park will transform into an interactive hub for families eager to explore a variety of vehicles, including tractors, trucks, and even an aircraft.
This free event promises to engage children with hands-on learning experiences that highlight the vehicles instrumental in shaping the North Platte community. “Tractors, Trucks, Trains and Planes” is designed not just for fun but to foster a deeper understanding of transportation and engineering among young minds.
Sierra Gardner, Executive Director of the North Platte Area Children’s Museum, stated, “This is a perfect opportunity for us to meet families where they are — outside, exploring and learning together.” The event’s focus on community-centered programming reflects a growing trend in North Platte, as local organizations unite to create memorable experiences for families.
In addition to showcasing impressive vehicles, the event will feature interactive activity stations set up by the Children’s Museum, aimed at sparking curiosity and creativity. Gardner emphasized that this collaboration goes beyond big machines and photo opportunities; it serves as a testament to how local institutions can work together to expand their impact.
“This collaborative effort is about more than just big machines and fun photo ops; it’s a shining example of how local organizations can partner to expand their impact,” Gardner added. The event is not only a chance for kids to see these vehicles up close but also an opportunity for the Children’s Museum to highlight its mission of promoting lifelong learning and curiosity.
As families gear up for this exciting day, the community is encouraged to participate and make lasting memories together. With free admission and engaging activities, Rail Days is poised to be a highlight of the summer for North Platte families.
Don’t miss this chance to inspire the next generation of innovators and explorers. Mark your calendars for August 2 and join in on the adventure at Cody Park!
