The board’s unanimous decision underscores Noskey’s exceptional performance in his role, marking his ongoing commitment to excellence in education.
During Monday’s meeting, board members lauded Noskey, emphasizing their confidence in his abilities. He achieved the top rating of 3 in four out of five evaluation categories, including governance, community relations, business finance, and instructional leadership. Only in staff relations did he score a 2.86, still well within the effective range.
Board President Terry Boni remarked, “Good, pretty good. Exceptional. Efficient,” highlighting that Noskey’s performance remains strong after a decade of service. With an evaluation threshold of 85% to 100% for the effective rating, Noskey continues to uphold high standards.
Noskey, who has led the district since 2016, expressed gratitude for the board’s support, stating, “I’m obviously pleased with the evaluation. We have a great board. That makes my job easier.” He attributed his success to a dedicated administrative team and strong community relations, emphasizing a family-like atmosphere within Belding.
Under Noskey’s leadership, Belding Area Schools has maintained a solid financial standing, operating with a general fund balance of 15% to 20% of annual expenditures. Despite facing challenges such as a 12% drop in student enrollment from 1,875 in the 2016-17 school year to 1,652 in 2024-25, the school has persevered.
Boni noted that Noskey has consistently received high evaluations throughout his tenure, averaging above 92%. “His relationship with the staff has really shined,” Boni stated, emphasizing the importance of hiring the right people for the district.
Noskey’s contract remains unchanged, with a current base salary of $157,725, reflecting the board’s confidence in his leadership and vision for the future. His efforts to foster strong community ties and maintain an inviting school culture have been pivotal in keeping the district afloat during turbulent times.
Looking ahead, the board and Noskey are committed to addressing ongoing challenges while enhancing educational experiences. The community continues to rally behind their leader, showcasing a united front in support of Belding Area Schools.
As Belding Area Schools celebrates another year of effective leadership, the focus remains on nurturing a positive environment for both students and staff, ensuring that the community’s values are upheld for years to come.
