Angels Recall Jose Fermin, Designate Connor Brogdon for Assignment

BREAKING: The Los Angeles Angels have made a significant roster move, recalling right-hander Jose Fermin from Triple-A Salt Lake and designating Connor Brogdon for assignment. This urgent update comes just hours before the Angels face off against the Athletics in a crucial game on July 16, 2023.

Fermin, only 23 years old, enters the series finale sporting a record of 2-2 with a 6.63 ERA over 23 games this season. His return follows a rocky stint last month, where he failed to retire a batter and allowed three runs in a single outing. The Angels are hoping Fermin can provide a much-needed boost in their bullpen.

On the other hand, Brogdon’s struggles have led to his departure. The 30-year-old righty had a challenging outing in Saturday’s loss, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks while recording only two outs. His season stats reflect a 3-1 record and a 5.30 ERA in 37 games. Over his career, he has posted a record of 13-9 with a 4.24 ERA across 180 games with the Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Philadelphia.

Currently sitting in fourth place in the AL West, the Angels are struggling, with only the Athletics trailing them. This roster adjustment signals a pivotal moment for the team as they seek to improve their standings and capitalize on Fermin’s potential.

As the Angels prepare for their matchup, fans will be keenly watching to see how these changes impact the game. Stay tuned for further updates as this story develops.
