Olean General Hospital and Bradford Regional Medical Center are partnering with ConnectLife to host vital community blood drives this month. The initiative aims to encourage local residents to donate blood and support the region’s healthcare needs.
Olean General Hospital will conduct its blood drive today from 08:00 to 13:00. The event will take place on the ConnectLife Bus, located at the Mildred Milliman Outpatient Surgery Center, directly across from the hospital. Individuals interested in scheduling an appointment can visit connectlifegiveblood.org and enter sponsor code 000485, or they can call (716) 529-4270.
On Thursday, Bradford Regional Medical Center will hold its blood drive from 10:00 to 15:00 in the hospital’s main lobby. To book an appointment, potential donors can again visit connectlifegiveblood.org, using sponsor code 000468, or can reach out directly to Kim Murphey at (814) 362-8298.
The impact of blood donation is significant, with a single pint capable of saving up to three lives within the local community. In appreciation of their generosity, all donors throughout December will receive a pair of tickets to an upcoming Buffalo Sabres home game.
In addition to these drives, ConnectLife has launched a new promotion titled “Suite Seats for Life Savers.” This initiative runs through December 31, 2023, and offers donors the chance to win a suite for themselves and 16 guests at Highmark Stadium during the Buffalo Bills’ final regular season game. To qualify for the drawing, donors must complete either two whole blood donations and one double red cell donation or four platelet donations during the specified period.
As community health remains a priority, these blood drives present an opportunity for residents to contribute meaningfully, ensuring that local hospitals have the necessary resources to care for those in need.
