Ruth Ann ‘Ruthie’ DeLucca, aged 81, passed away on Monday evening, July 21, 2025, at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township. A resident of Kingston, Pennsylvania, Ruthie is survived by her husband, Fred J. DeLucca, with whom she was set to celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary on August 20.
Born on January 01, 1944, in Wilkes-Barre, Ruthie was the only child of the late Howard Sterling and Edna Cragle Sterling. She grew up in Kingston and graduated from the former Kingston High School, Class of 1961. Following her high school education, Ruthie furthered her studies at the former Wilkes-Barre Business College, completing her degree in 1963.
Ruthie dedicated much of her life to being a devoted homemaker, taking great pride in caring for her family. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as cooking for her loved ones, going for walks, and taking car rides with her husband. A notable lover of sweets, Ruthie particularly enjoyed baking and indulging in cakes and cookies.
Her greatest happiness came from spending quality time with family and friends. She leaves behind a lasting legacy, remembered fondly for the love and devotion she provided to those around her. Ruthie is survived by her husband, Fred, and their two children, David DeLucca and his wife, Lisa, of Swoyersville, along with Adam DeLucca of Courtdale. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Davey DeLucca and Madison DeLucca, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Funeral Arrangements and Legacy
Family and friends are invited to attend Ruthie’s viewing scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 14:00 to 16:00 at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1442 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort. A private family burial service will take place at the Memorial Shrine Cemetery in the Carverton section of Kingston Township.
