Celebrate Faculty and Staff at Syracuse’s Home Opener on Sept. 6

Syracuse University will host its annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day on September 6, 2023, at the JMA Wireless Dome. The event coincides with the home opener of the Orange football team, which will compete against the University of Connecticut at noon. This celebration not only honors the outstanding contributions of faculty and staff but also reinforces community spirit as the university begins its football season.

Discounted Tickets and Special Offers

Faculty and staff can purchase tickets at discounted rates for the game, with prices as follows: Level G tickets are available for $21.51, Level F for $26.82, and Level D for $42.72. This offer extends to faculty and staff members and their guests, allowing for up to 13 tickets in total. Tickets can be acquired online until September 5 at 23:59.

Additionally, September 6 marks Military Appreciation Day, recognizing the service of military veterans and active-duty members. Faculty and staff who qualify can opt for discounted Military Appreciation Day tickets, although combining discounts is not permitted.

Pre-Game Activities and Special Gifts

Prior to kickoff, attendees can enjoy a variety of pre-game festivities starting at 09:00 on the Kenneth A. Shaw Quadrangle. Live music will be performed by the Pride of the Orange Marching Band, and attendees will have the chance to meet Otto the Orange. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase, enhancing the festive atmosphere.

The first 400 faculty and staff members—regardless of full-time, part-time, or temporary status—who visit the Faculty and Staff Appreciation tent with a Syracuse University I.D. will receive a complimentary game day gift along with a $5 concession coupon for use inside the Dome.

Additionally, those who purchase tickets by September 1 will be entered into a drawing for upgraded seating, participation in the on-field fan tunnel, or enhanced concession vouchers. Winners will be notified ahead of game day.

Season Ticket Discounts and Parking Information

Faculty and staff are eligible for a 20% discount on up to four football season tickets. For more information or to request a call from a sales representative, individuals can fill out the interest form available on the university’s website.

Parking arrangements include free game day parking at the Skytop lot for those with university parking permits. Individuals without a permit can obtain a complimentary one-time-use Skytop pass at the Office of Human Resources between August 25 and September 4, from 08:30 to 16:00. Proof of game ticket and a Syracuse University I.D. are necessary for this pass.

For any questions, attendees can contact the HR Service Center at 315.443.4042 or via email at [email protected]. Additional inquiries can be directed to the JMA Wireless Dome Box Office at 315.443.2121 or [email protected].

As the Syracuse community comes together for this special occasion, it promises to be a memorable game day celebrating both the university’s staff and the spirit of college football.
