Ultrahuman Introduces Cycle and Ovulation Pro for Smart Rings

Ultrahuman has launched a new subscription service, Cycle and Ovulation Pro, for its Ultrahuman Ring AIR, following its recent acquisition of viO HealthTech. This innovative feature aims to provide users with enhanced menstrual cycle and ovulation tracking capabilities, claiming to be the most accurate cycle tracking available on any smart ring to date.

The Cycle and Ovulation Pro service builds on existing free features within the Ultrahuman platform, including the Cycle and Ovulation and Pregnancy PowerPlugs. With this upgrade, Ultrahuman is leveraging advanced algorithms from viO’s OvuSense fertility monitors, which are underpinned by over 15 years of research. This new functionality is particularly beneficial for women seeking to conceive, as it can help identify the critical days leading up to ovulation.

The Ultrahuman Ring AIR utilizes a skin temperature sensor to monitor fluctuations in body temperature, which can indicate ovulation. According to the company, the new algorithm is designed to effectively track cycles for approximately 87% of women who do not have a typical 28-day cycle. This includes those with conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or endometriosis.

Enhanced Tracking and Insights

The Cycle and Ovulation Pro feature introduces cycle flags based on users’ temperature data. These flags can reveal underlying patterns that may relate to various health conditions, such as the timing of ovulation, luteal phase length, or potential miscarriage risks. This information can empower users to better understand their menstrual health and facilitate informed discussions with healthcare professionals.

While the Ultrahuman Ring AIR offers valuable insights, it is essential for users to remember that fitness trackers cannot replace medical advice. If there are concerns about menstrual cycles, consulting a healthcare provider remains crucial. Increased data may assist medical professionals in diagnosing conditions more swiftly.

The upgraded cycle tracking service is now available as of August 15, 2023, priced at $3.99 per month or $39.99 annually. Unlike many competitors, Ultrahuman operates without a subscription model for the ring itself. Instead, users can opt for additional “PowerPlugs” to enhance their experience at a monthly cost.

This latest launch positions Ultrahuman as a notable player in the health technology market, emphasizing its commitment to women’s health and wellness. With the growing interest in wearable health technology, the Ultrahuman Ring AIR may appeal to those seeking more than just fitness tracking, offering a comprehensive tool for monitoring reproductive health.
