Northern Shenandoah Valley NAMI Expands Support for Mental Health

The Northern Shenandoah Valley National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has launched a series of support group meetings aimed at assisting adults dealing with mental health conditions and addiction. These gatherings welcome individuals regardless of their specific diagnosis, providing a space for shared experiences and mutual encouragement.

Support group meetings are scheduled at various locations throughout the region to ensure accessibility for participants. The meetings take place weekly and biweekly, accommodating different schedules and preferences.

Meeting Schedule and Locations

Every Monday, from 18:30 to 20:00, a support group convenes at the Our Health Campus located in the Shockey Building, 301 N. Cameron St., Winchester. This central location aims to cater to community members seeking regular support.

On Tuesdays, meetings occur on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Stephens City Mennonite Church, found at 5540 Valley Pike. This venue offers a welcoming environment for discussions and sharing.

Wednesdays also feature support sessions from 16:00 to 17:30 on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. These gatherings take place at the Shenandoah County Parks and Recreation office, located at 1195 Hisey Ave., Woodstock.

For those seeking support on Thursdays, the second and fourth Thursdays of each month host meetings at Calvary Episcopal Church, located at 11 W. 2nd St., Front Royal, from 18:30 to 20:00.

Additionally, a virtual support group is available on Saturdays from 13:00 to 14:30. Interested individuals can register for this online option at https://tinyurl.com/5aak9py6.

Finally, on the first Sunday of each month, a gathering takes place from 14:30 to 16:00 at 1444 Welltown Road, Clear Brook, providing another opportunity for individuals to connect and share.
