Zac Brown is engaged to jewelry designer Kendra Scott, even as he navigates a contentious legal battle with his ex-wife, Kelly Yazdi. The 46-year-old country star and Scott, 51, shared their joyous news during an interview with People magazine, stating, “We are so happy and grateful that we found each other.”
The couple’s engagement was highlighted by a photograph where Scott proudly displayed her pink diamond ring while embracing Brown against a picturesque sunset backdrop. In another image, they were seen relaxing on a lounge chair, with Scott resting her head on the “Chicken Fried” hitmaker’s shoulder, showcasing her new ring.
During a recent appearance on the “Today” show, Brown expressed his happiness following the engagement announcement. “I feel blessed,” he remarked, adding that his proposal went well. He also acknowledged the unique challenge of selecting an engagement ring for a jewelry designer, saying, “What are you gonna get somebody that designs jewelry?”
Brown described the relationship as energizing, stating, “It just adds so much energy to everything else,” enhancing both his music and family life. The couple made their public debut at the 2025 American Music Awards, where Brown’s band, the Zac Brown Band, was nominated for favorite country duo or group. At the event, he received the inaugural Veteran’s Voice Award for his support of the veteran community.
According to People magazine, Brown and Scott began dating several months ago after being introduced by a mutual friend. An insider mentioned, “They are head over heels and have become inseparable.” The couple also attended the wedding of fellow country star Jamey Johnson together earlier this year.
Both Brown and Scott have previous marriages. Scott was married to John Scott from 2000 to 2006 and has two sons from that union. She later married Matt Davis in 2014; they share one son and divorced in 2020. Scott’s most recent marriage to Thomas Evans ended in separation in 2022. Meanwhile, Brown divorced his first wife, Shelly, in 2018 after 12 years together, and they share five children: Justice, 18, Lucy, 17, Georgia, 16, Joni, 14, and Alexander, 11.
In August 2023, Brown married actress and model Kelly Yazdi, but they announced their separation just four months later, leading to a swift and acrimonious divorce finalized in January 2024. Currently, Brown and Yazdi are embroiled in a legal dispute. In May, Brown filed a lawsuit against Yazdi, alleging violations of an employee and confidentiality agreement, as well as defamation after she made posts accusing him of “narcissistic abuse.”
Yazdi responded by claiming that Brown sought to silence her. Additionally, she filed a lawsuit in July over Brown’s music video for “Beautiful Drug,” asserting it included unauthorized footage from their wedding and featured a lookalike model to represent her negatively. The two are scheduled to face a jury trial on September 15 in Atlanta, as their legal disputes continue to unfold.
