Singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has suspended his world tour after the tragic identification of a deceased teenager found in his impounded Tesla. The young girl, Celeste Rivas, who disappeared over a year ago at the age of 13, was confirmed to be the body discovered in the vehicle, which was located at a Los Angeles tow yard.
The singer’s representatives have announced that he will not perform at the scheduled show on September 17, 2024, at Seattle’s Showbox SoDo. Despite this cancellation, details on the following performances remain pending. D4vd is set to kick off the European leg of his tour on October 1, 2024.
Authorities reported last week that a decomposing body was found in a bag inside D4vd’s Tesla, which had been reported missing from the Hollywood Hills. At that time, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) noted that the remains were not intact. D4vd’s legal team stated he was cooperating fully with the investigation.
On Wednesday, the LAPD confirmed that the remains belonged to Rivas, who went missing in April 2024 from her family home in Lake Elsinore, California, approximately 76 miles southeast of Hollywood Hills. Currently, there is no information on a suspect, and the LAPD has not classified the case as a crime pending autopsy results.
Rivas’ mother provided additional details to media outlets, stating that the teen had a boyfriend named David and a tattoo on her right index finger reading “Shhh…,” which matches a similar tattoo on D4vd’s finger. This particular tattoo has become a nostalgic symbol, previously sported by celebrities such as Rihanna and Lindsay Lohan in the early 2000s.
As investigations continue, representatives for D4vd have not responded to inquiries from various news outlets, including the Daily News. The ongoing situation has sparked significant public interest, as fans and the music community grapple with the unfolding events surrounding the artist.
