Chicago’s iconic Northalsted neighborhood is set to come alive as the 28th annual Haunted Halsted Halloween Parade takes center stage. Recognized as one of the nation’s top Halloween celebrations, this vibrant event invites the public to participate free of charge, featuring an array of performances from troupes, a lively marching band, dancers, and much more.
Art and Community Engagement in Brookfield
In addition to the Halloween festivities, the Village of Brookfield is unveiling nine original artworks at the Compassion Factory Art Gallery & Studio. This initiative is part of a Cook County Arts Placemaking Grant aimed at enhancing community engagement through the arts. The unveiling marks a significant milestone in the development of the Brookfield Shops at Progress Park, a small business incubator established in June 2025 to support local entrepreneurs.
Artists selected for this exhibition were chosen by a local review panel for their distinctive styles and contributions to the community. This event not only showcases their talents but also highlights the growing emphasis on art as a means of fostering community spirit.
Andersonville’s Culinary Celebration
The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce is also participating in the excitement, hosting its inaugural Andersonville Autumn Restaurant Week. This week-long event celebrates the neighborhood’s dynamic dining scene, featuring more than a dozen local restaurants. Diners can enjoy a range of cozy, fall-inspired dishes, with options catering to various dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals, as well as carry-out choices.
The combination of the Haunted Halsted Halloween Parade and the cultural initiatives in Brookfield and Andersonville underscores Chicago’s commitment to celebrating community, creativity, and diversity. As both locals and visitors come together for these events, they reflect the spirit and vibrancy of the city during this festive season.
