Blumhouse Productions has achieved a historic milestone, surpassing $1 billion in global box office revenue for the first time in its 25-year history. This remarkable feat was accomplished in 2025, marking the studio’s strongest performance to date. The figure reflects the cumulative box office earnings from their horror film releases throughout the year.
According to data from Deadline, Blumhouse and its subsidiary, Atomic Monster, generated approximately $1.022 billion worldwide from a total of ten films. This achievement underscores the ongoing popularity and profitability of franchise-driven horror films. Notably, the studio’s previous record was set in 2023, when its films collectively earned $821.9 million globally.
Top Performers Drive Revenue
The standout release this year was The Conjuring: Last Rites, which led the box office with an impressive $494.6 million in ticket sales. Following closely was Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, which has already amassed $201.8 million and continues to play in theaters. Other successful titles included Black Phone 2 with $132.1 million, The Monkey at $68.8 million, and M3GAN 2.0, which contributed $39 million.
Despite some films not meeting initial expectations, the overall slate proved to be highly profitable. The combined production budgets for these films amounted to approximately $204 million before marketing costs, demonstrating Blumhouse’s effective and cost-efficient approach to filmmaking.
Strategic Growth and Future Plans
This accomplishment comes just over a year after Blumhouse and Atomic Monster completed their merger in January 2024. The integration of the two studios has positioned them for greater success, allowing them to leverage their combined strengths in the competitive film market.
Looking forward, Blumhouse and Atomic Monster are gearing up for an exciting lineup of upcoming releases. Projects set to launch include The Mummy, a sixth installment of Insidious, as well as titles like Other Mommy, Obsession, and Mortal Kombat II. With a robust schedule ahead, the studios aim to maintain their upward trajectory in the horror genre and beyond.
This record-setting year not only represents a significant achievement for Blumhouse but also highlights the enduring appeal of horror films in the global box office landscape. As the industry evolves, Blumhouse’s innovative strategies will likely continue to shape its future successes.
