The National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has announced significant additions to its team, welcoming both Zach Aune and Kyle Potswald to bolster its services in treasury management and commercial banking. This move reflects NBC’s commitment to enhancing client support and community engagement in the region.
Zach Aune Joins as Treasury Management Specialist
Zach Aune, a native of Duluth, has been appointed as the new Treasury Management Specialist at NBC. Aune holds a degree in business administration, finance, and communication from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He plans to pursue further education to deepen his expertise.
In his role, Aune will work closely with business clients to streamline financial operations, mitigate risks, and improve daily processes. His responsibilities will include assisting clients in adopting merchant services, enabling them to accept various payment types conveniently and affordably. Additionally, he will focus on cash and liquidity management to foster long-term growth for local businesses.
“I’m excited to be back in my hometown and start this new chapter with NBC,” Aune stated. “It’s a great opportunity to learn and grow while helping local businesses succeed. I’m eager to connect with the community in new ways—both professionally and personally.”
Kyle Potswald Brings Extensive Banking Experience
Also joining NBC is Kyle Potswald, who has been named Assistant Vice President and Commercial Banker. Originally from Esko, Minnesota, Potswald brings over thirteen years of experience in residential and commercial lending. His previous roles include positions at US Bank Home Mortgage and Hiway Credit Union, most recently serving as Vice President of Commercial Lending at Citizens Bank.
Potswald holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Augsburg University and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, set to complete his studies in 2024. In his new position, he will collaborate with business clients to provide lending and treasury management solutions tailored to their needs.
Having recently relocated back to the region, Potswald expressed enthusiasm about reconnecting with the Northland community. He aims to leverage his experience to assist local businesses in achieving their financial goals.
The appointments of Aune and Potswald mark a strategic effort by the National Bank of Commerce to strengthen its commercial banking services and reinforce its dedication to supporting the local economy. With their combined expertise, NBC is well-positioned to enhance its offerings and contribute to the success of businesses in the area.
