A significant expansion is underway for the Neighborhood Health Center of WNY, which has acquired a former urgent care facility located at 2497 Delaware Ave. for $1.7 million. This purchase marks a pivotal development for the health center, which serves over 32,000 patients in the Buffalo area.
The newly acquired property was previously occupied by Focus Urgent Care. The addition of this two-story, 15,000-square-foot building will nearly double the health center’s existing space, enhancing its current 23,000-square-foot facility located at 300 Niagara St.. The Neighborhood Health Center has been a fixture in the Buffalo community for more than a decade, providing essential primary care services.
Impact on Community Health Services
The expansion is expected to significantly improve access to healthcare for local residents. With the increased capacity, the Neighborhood Health Center aims to accommodate more patients, reducing wait times and enhancing service delivery. This move aligns with the center’s ongoing commitment to meet the growing health needs of the Buffalo population.
According to the center’s leadership, the new location will not only provide more space for patient care but also allow for the introduction of additional services and programs aimed at promoting community health. As the health sector continues to evolve, such expansions are crucial in ensuring that healthcare providers can effectively respond to the demands of their communities.
Future Plans and Community Engagement
The Neighborhood Health Center plans to commence renovations shortly, with the goal of opening the new facility in the coming months. Community members can expect updates regarding the transition and the services that will be available at the new location.
This strategic acquisition exemplifies the center’s proactive approach to healthcare in Buffalo and underscores the importance of investing in health services. Enhanced facilities will enable the Neighborhood Health Center to continue playing a vital role in the health and well-being of its patients.
