Community Mourns Edward Andrejko, Beloved Family Man and Outdoorsman

Edward Stephen Andrejko, a cherished member of the Burnt Hills community in New York and more recently a resident of Media, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2025. He was known for his warm personality, diverse interests, and a wealth of stories that endeared him to family and friends alike.

Born on May 28, 1936, in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania, Ed was the son of Anna (Kulek) and Emory Andrejko. He pursued higher education at Penn State in Wilkes-Barre, where he earned an associate’s degree before graduating with a degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University. Throughout his career at General Electric in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, Ed exemplified dedication and precision, particularly within the company’s large steam turbines department at the Schenectady complex.

Ed’s personal life flourished alongside his professional achievements. In 1959, he married Gloria Lokuta, the love of his life, and together they raised three children: William, Lorraine, and Anne. In 1968, the family relocated to Burnt Hills, where Ed continued to build a successful career while fostering a close-knit family environment.

Passions and Community Involvement

Outside of work, Ed had a profound appreciation for nature. He instilled a respect for the outdoors in his children and grandchildren, often engaging in activities such as fly fishing, boating, and hiking. His retirement years were filled with adventures, including berry picking and swimming in Lake George. A proud member of Trout Unlimited, Ed was actively involved in efforts to protect rivers and streams, demonstrating his commitment to environmental conservation.

Ed found joy in fly fishing, often enjoying time on the Battenkill River in Vermont or the Yellowstone River in Montana with friends. His love for the game of chess was recently rekindled, as he sought out companions in his new home at Rose Tree Place in Media to share this passion.

A Legacy of Faith and Family

A man of deep faith, Ed dedicated time to serving with the Knight of Columbus and at Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville, New York. His contributions to the community exemplified his values of service and commitment to family and friends.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; his sister, Mary Ann Novitsky; his children, William Andrejko, Lorraine Isaac, and Anne Andrejko; and his grandchildren, Rachel Isaac, Harrison Isaac, Lucy Shea, and Margot Shea.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on November 6, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM at Nativity BVM Church, located at 30 E. Franklin St., Media, Pennsylvania. A Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Catholic Relief Services at www.crs.org or Trout Unlimited at patrout.org. Arrangements are being handled by jnelsonrigbyfh.com.

The memory of Edward Andrejko will endure through the lives he touched and the values he championed, leaving a lasting legacy of love, community, and respect for nature.
