URGENT UPDATE: USC guard Amarion Dickerson will be sidelined for three to four months following a serious right hip injury sustained during the Trojans’ win over Oregon earlier this week, head coach Eric Musselman confirmed Saturday.
This significant injury comes as the 24th-ranked Trojans maintain an impressive 8-0 record, currently sitting at 1-0 in Big Ten play. Dickerson, who had been averaging 4.6 points and 3.4 rebounds over nearly 22 minutes of play in his first eight games, will leave a noticeable gap in the lineup.
The senior from Cleveland, Ohio, was a key contributor last season, starting 31 of 35 games at Robert Morris, where he earned recognition as the Horizon League defensive player of the year. His versatility, toughness, and athleticism have been instrumental to the Trojans’ success this season.
“We will miss his versatility, toughness, and athleticism,”
Musselman stated.
“Amarion is undoubtedly disappointed, but he looks forward to attacking his rehab, and we cannot wait to see him come back even stronger.”
As the Trojans prepare for the upcoming games, the team will need to adjust their strategies in Dickerson’s absence. Fans and teammates alike are rallying behind him as he embarks on a rigorous rehabilitation process.
Stay tuned for updates on Dickerson’s recovery and how the Trojans will adapt to this major setback. The impact of this injury could reshape the team’s dynamics as they push forward in the season.
