Lenovo Unveils Legion Go 2 Handheld at $1,050; Launching Soon

UPDATE: Lenovo has just announced the launch of its highly anticipated Legion Go 2 handheld gaming PC, set to hit the market in October 2025 with a starting price of $1,050. This powerful successor, unveiled at IFA 2025, boasts significant improvements that will captivate gamers worldwide.

The Legion Go 2 features a stunning 8.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200, offering vibrant colors and deep blacks to enhance gaming experiences. What’s more, it supports variable refresh rates (VRR) ranging from 30Hz to 144Hz, ensuring smooth gameplay across various titles.

Lenovo’s latest device is powered by AMD’s advanced Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip and offers up to 32GB of high-speed RAM, setting a new standard in the handheld gaming arena. The battery has also seen a significant upgrade, now featuring a 74Wh capacity, which promises longer gaming sessions than its predecessor, which struggled to last beyond two hours.

With two USB 4 ports supporting up to 65W charging and video output via DisplayPort 2.0, gamers can expect enhanced connectivity options. Lenovo’s focus on ergonomics is evident in the redesigned TrueStrike grips, which promise a more comfortable gaming experience.

However, the price tag raises eyebrows. At $1,050, the Legion Go 2 is positioned significantly higher than competitors like the MSI Claw 8 AI+, which currently retails for $1,000. This pricing strategy may challenge Lenovo’s market share in a rapidly evolving sector.

The Legion Go 2 continues to embrace Windows, with plans to introduce a handheld-specific version of Windows 11 in the future. However, for now, users can utilize the Legion Space app for power management and quick-access games.

As the gaming community eagerly anticipates the October launch, critical questions remain: Will the Legion Go 2 deliver the performance and value necessary to justify its price? With the combination of powerful specs and an impressive display, Lenovo aims to redefine the handheld gaming experience.

Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches, and prepare to see if Lenovo’s bold move pays off in the competitive gaming market.
